Who is and isn't active
The NBA season has demonstrated that (absolutely necessary) COVID-19 protocols will wreak havoc upon teams, players, and perhaps most importantly, fantasy GMs
After he turned down the Presidential Medal of Freedom for the exact reasons you think, Oddball’s co-creators have had to grapple with an existential question: is Bill Belichick good now?
No. No he isn’t.
Answers from last week’s issue
With a win this past Sunday, Baker Mayfield and the Cleveland Browns broke the NFL’s longest postseason drought. Who started at QB the last time the Browns played a playoff game? (Hint: he was undrafted.)
The quarterback you are looking for is Kelly Holcomb, who had an immense day the last time the Browns were in the postseason — coincidentally against the foe the current-day Browns vanquished this past Sunday: the Pittsburgh Steelers. Holcomb threw for 429 yards and three scores (and one pick) in a 36-33 loss to the illustrious Tommy Maddox and co.
After Dodger Stadium (56,000) and (new) Yankee Stadium (52,325), what MLB park has the largest seating capacity?
Denver, Colorado’s Coors Field has a seating capacity of 49,469, which one supposes will be useful when fans are allowed to attend games again. You know, in 2025.
What player has the most 20-point, 20-assist games in NBA history?
Apparently it was some guy named Earvin Johnson. Have you heard of him? Was he as good as Rod Strickland?
On two occasions, an NHL team has had three players register 20+ power-play goals in the same season — the 1987-88 Winnipeg Jets and the 1992-93 Buffalo Sabres. What player was on the roster of both teams?
The player was the late, great Dale Hawerchuk, who passed away on August 18, 2020.

Why is this issue named what it is? So we could have fun with the “active” part of it, naturally. Get ready for some sneaky difficult questions about players who are still playing and/or plying their trade and/or whatever.
Among active NBA players, who has the most career (regular season) personal fouls?
Among active MLB players, who has the most career (regular season) triples?
Among active NFL quarterbacks, who has thrown the most career pick-sixes in the regular season?
Among active NHL players, who has the most career (regular season) penalty minutes?

Thanks to Bobby Portis for being named his name and to you for being named your name, unless your name is Youppi, in which case Tommy Lasorda’s ghost is going to haunt you until you go to the Big O in the sky — where you’ll have to defeat and behead the Capital City Goofball in combat to earn the gift of eternal paradise.
We know you love us and want to help Oddball out, so please click the heart and share this issue (and all the other issues!) with likeminded friends, enemies, and frenemies you think may enjoy the challenge. Same goes for the challenge of our weekday trivia over on Facebook — which we are thinking of moving to Instagram.
If you have an opinion about that, or anything else, get thee to the comments section.
